Over the weekend, the Derek Trucks Band performed a pair of shows at San Franciscos The Independent. On both nights, Papa Mali supplied opening duties and joined Trucks onstage for a number of songs throughout the two-night stand including Preachin’ Blues, 44 Blues and Spirit In The Dark. After his performance Friday, Trucks and surprise guest Wally Ingram also joined Dave Schools and friends at the free-form Star Sapphire Cosmic Love Ball. Similarly, after their performance Saturday, both Trucks and Papa Mali moved over to the Boom Boom Room to jam with Tab Benoit. The Derek Trucks Band will perform tomorrow at Eureka, CA Indigo Nightclub.
