Nearly fifty years into a musical partnership that began when they were teenagers, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady will remain in motion over the coming months. Hot Tuna recently launched its own downloads site at Hottunatunes.com. Looking ahead, the pair has confirmed a number of dates both acoustic and electric into August. Jack and Jorma will begin an acoustic tour on February 7 at the Conference Center in Telluride CO, eventually traveling out to Hawaii where they will be joined by Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin. The three musicians also will add drummer Erik Diaz for some acoustic and electric shows, with gigs currently confirmed for July 1 at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, MA and August 5 at the Dunegrass Blues Festival in Empire, MI and more presumably to come.
