While Medeski Martin & Wood is off until its New Years run begins in Japan on December 28, two thirds of the group will be gigging later this week. Drummer Billy Martin will perform solo for a night of Black Elk percussion music in Brooklyn at the Issue Project Room on Thursday. That same evening, bassist Chris Wood will take the stage with his brother Oliver as part of a three show New York mini-tour. The pair who have released a Live At Tonic EP also will appear at the Rosendale Cafn Rosendale, NY on Friday and then in New York City on Saturday at The Living Room.
