Keller Williams closed out his December outing Saturday with an appearance at South Burlington, VTs Higher Ground. As expected, Williams covered a wide range of artists throughout the night, ranging from Kris Kristofferson to Queen. During Williams first set a local Vermont musician—-Mike Gordon—-stopped by to interpret some of his own material, as well as some unique covers. The two odd-ball musicians collaborated on a number of songs including Antonio Carlos Jobims The Girl From Impanema, Leo Kottkes Car Carrier Blues (which appears on the Kottke/Gordon album Clone) and Phishs Weigh. Dave Grippo joined Williams deep into his second set lending some saxophone to More Than A Little and Loop, before yielding to trumpeter Lou Gosain on SloMo Balloon.
