At the end of the month, Gov’t Mule will return to New York Citys Beacon Theatre for a three night New Years Eve run. The December 31 show will be a three set affair, including one with the Ron Holloway Horns. Holloway, who sites Sonny Rollins as a mentor, has performed with Rollins, Freddie Hubbard and Jimmy Smith over the years and was a member of both Dizzy Gillespie and Gil Scott-Herons bands. The tenor saxophonist made a few appearances with the Mule in 2005 and joined the Allman Brothers Band on a few occasions this past summer during Haynes brief absence from the group.
