Last night Phil Lesh and Friends returned to the stage for a show Bimbo’s 365 Club. The capacity of the San Francisco venue which opened in 1931, is under 1000, marking this as the smallest public performance yet by Phil & Friends. Phil’s Friends consisted of Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Rob Barraco and Barry Sless (Joan Osborne was not on hand as she will be over the weekend at Vegoose). In addition, David Nelson appeared on guitar and vocals throughout the first set and for a few songs in the second. To this end, the band introduced some new songs, including a cover of Bill Monroes Rocky Road Blues.
