Next week both moe. and Gov’t Mule will travel to Las Vegas to perform at the inaugural Vegoose. But, before then, the paired performers dipped their toes into Nevada for a joint performance at Caesar’s Tahoe Showroom. During the performance, Warren Haynes also joined moe. during ‘Opium,’ a number he has made his own over the past few months. Later in the set the Mule trio of Haynes, Matt Abts and Danny Louis also lent some muscle to a cover of The Band’s ‘The Weight.’
On Monday Mule and moe. also swapped covers. First, moe. invited Haynes onstage for a version of Neil Young’s ‘My My, Hey Hey(Into the Black).’ Next, Mule brought Chuck Garvey back for a cover of The Grateful Dead’s ‘Sugaree,’ which followed an inspired reggae version of Haynes’ signature ‘Soulshine.’ Tonight, moe. and Gov’t Mule’s outing continues onto Santa Cruz, CA’s The Catalyst.
