A number of familiar Big Easy faces will participate in an upcoming New Orleans benefit at BB King Blues Club. The funky Meters trio of Brian Stoltz, Russell Batiste and George Porter. Jr will perform as PBS on September 24, with members of the Rebirth Brass Band scheduled to participate as well. Proceeds will benefit the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, an organization established by Preservation Hall to provide musicians with financial support in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Both The Meters and the Rebirth Brass Band will also perform in New York earlier in the week as part of the From the Big Apple to the Big Easy Benefit.
