The debut release from Chris Robinson & The New Earth Mud entitled This Magnificent Distance will appear on June 29. Although Robinson’s last disc was entitled New Earth Mud, it was more of a solo project although a core of players did back him on many of the tracks. Moreover, the band that is now known as NEM, is an altogether different collective featuring Audley Freed on guitar, Rob Barraco on keys, bassist George Reiff and drummer Steve DiStanislao. The quintet will begin a tour with this line-up on April 30 (okay actually May 1 at 2AM) at TwiRoPa in New Orleans.
