A new quintet that has dubbed itself The Mix will open a nine show Colorado at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver tomorrow night. The band is comprised of Zero founder Greg Anton on drums, Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band and later JGB) on organ, along with two members of the Dark Star Orchestra: guitarist John Kadlecik and bass player Kevin Rosen as well as Phix guitarist Paul Murin. While many of these musicians are known for their interpretation of others artists’ material, the Mix also will focus on original music as well, with one such song available at the band’s web site.
