Filming began this past weekend on the fully-authorized Wetlands Preserve documentary (the first to sit for extended interviews were the club’s founders Larry and Laura Bloch). The project is being produced by the Blochs’ successor Peter Shapiro (the executive producer/co-musical director of the Jammys, among many other projects). If you have any photos, video, memorabilia or even significant memories (stories) of significant events that took place at the fabled New York club that you wish to contribute please contact the film’s director, your friendly neighborhood site editor, Dean Budnick- [email protected].. The documentary’s tentative release date is spring 2005.
