Nederland Acid Jazz, the weekly impromptu jazz session now in its eighth year, will celebrate performance number 420 (huh-huh) this evening. Michigan Mike is the instigator for this Colorado-based event which brings together numerous skilled improvisers, many of whom don’t even know who will be joining them until they arrive at the club. On hand to celebrate this evening will be Michael Travis, Ross Martin (Tony Furtado Band, Flinner/Martin Band), Kirwan Brown (Cirque Du Soleil), John Stewart (The Motet) and others. The gig is free of charge and will take place at the Pioneer Inn. Additional info on the event and a history of past performers can be found at Michigan Mike’s web site.
