It does indeed appear that Psychedelic Breakfast, one of six bands nominated for the new groove award at the 2004 Jammys will be changing its name. The quartet’s upcoming ‘Introducing the Breakfast Spring Tour’ reflects the loss of the hallucinogenic adjective and the addition of the definite article. The Breakfast will begin its tour with a hometown gig on February 27 at Hartford’s Webster Theater (a show that will push into the 28th, which is guitarist Tim Palmieri’s 25th Birthday). From here the group will route to the south in March, including a number of dates with Perpetual Groove. Details and updates are at the band’s web site which for the indeterminate future remains Psychedelicbreakfast.com.
