Music For America, a grassroots non-profit organization that aims to motivate one million otherwise disaffected voters to participate in the 2004 election has a number of benefit performances set for February. For instance, on the west coast, Bruce Cockburn will appear at one such event, at the Henry Mello Center in Watsonville, CA on February 19. In the east, Soulive and Medeski Martin & Wood will do the same on successive nights, February 27 and 28 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. Music For America describes itself as ‘a political non-profit working to empower young people by exposing the connection between their cultural lives and the political process.’
