Marco Benevento and Joe Russo continued their New York residency this past Friday at the Tribeca Rock Club. Guitarist Wayne Krantz was the Duo’s announced special guest for the show and he played throughout the second set. At the outset of that set Mike Gordon emerged, esconced in his winter coat, to join in on organ and Wurlitzer for a version of Grant Green’s ‘Selma March.’ The Duo will resume its New York residency over the next two weeks with Sam Kininger joining on the 30th and Skerik on February 6 (Benevento and Russo will also gig at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club and Philadelphia’s Pontiac Grille over those same two weeks).
