Two-thirds of Soulive: guitarist Eric Krasno and keyboardist Neal Evans will perform three NYC gigs this month with a new side project that also features Krasno’s longtime Lettuce bandmate drummer Adam Deitch. The group, known as the Fire Department will focus on hip-hop and r&b, with the contributions of additional singers, MCs and instrumentalists. Evans recently performed with Deitch when he joined Lettuce for a few dates (including its trip to Japan). The group’s gig will take place at the Knitting Factory on December 3rd, 11th and 18th.
Some of the group’s music can be heard at the Soulive web site.
