Deep Banana Blackout has announced that it will play another reunion show. The original line-up, which features vocalist Jen Durkin, trombonist Rob Volo, guitarist Fuzz, bassist Benj LeFevre, drummer Eric Kalb, saxophonist Rob Somerville and keyboardist Cryrus Madan, along with percussionist Johnny Durkin, will take the stage on Wednesday, November 26 at Toads Place in New Haven, CT for its first club gig since August of 2000. The band was pleased with its last reunion, this past summer at the Gathering of the Vibes. The set at the Vibes just felt really good’, says Fuzz. ‘Getting back together with everyone for the sole purpose of making music and having fun really put things into perspective. The magic was there and we can’t wait to do it again.’
Durkin and Volo left DBB in 2000 to pursue other musical paths. Saxophonist and vocalist Hope Clayburn soon joined the band along with trombonist Bryan Smith. The group announced it would take an indefinite hiatus following its New Years 2002 performance at Toads Place.
Tickets for the reunion show go on sale Monday. The official website is www.deepbananablackout.com.
