Mike Gordon sat in with local jazz band Word of Mouth last night at the Players Club in Boulder, CO. Gordon, who was performing with his band next door at the Fox Theater, stepped in midway through the show for Jaco Patorius Chicken and Joe Zawinul’s Mercy Mercy Mercy. Mikes touring ensemble features guitarist Scott Murawski (Max Creek) pedal steel guitarist and banjoist Gordon Stone, keyboardist James Harvey (Giant Country Horns), drummer Doug Belote (Anders Osborne, Tony Furtado), vocalist/flautist Julee Avallone (also of Dr. Juice), trombonist Josh Roseman (Dave Holland, Charlie Hunter) and dancer/vocalist Jeannie Hill.
