The Allman Brothers Band completed its three night stand at the Fox Theater in Atlanta last evening and it proved to be a noteworthy run. On Friday, Jack Pearson who toured with the group on guitar in the late 90’s took the stage on during the ‘Dreams’ > ‘Mountain Jam Reprise’ that closed out the second set and reappeared for the ‘Southbound’ encore. On Saturday family members Vaylor Trucks (Butch’s son) and Susan Tedeschi (Derek’s wife) sat in on ‘One Way Out’ and ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,’ respectively. Still for many, the highlight came at the end of the night when the ABB performed ‘Blue Sky’ for the first time since Dickey Betts departed the group with Gregg Allman contributing vocals (this likely won’t be the past time the band plays the song, as it will be part of the group’s forthcoming Eat a Peach performance on XM Satellite Radio). As for last night’s show, the guest appearances continued, with Rob Barraco joining in on ‘Same Thing’ and ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.’
