Charlie Hunter has announced his initial fall itinerary. A portion of the gigs will feature his trio consisting of Hunter, John Ellis and Geoff Clapp, with Derrek Phillips playing a few dates as well. The schedule includes late summer gigs in New York, California and Texas before Hunter joins Garage A Trois for a west coast tour in September and early October. The Trio will also play a six-night run at Yoshis in San Francisco, December 16 21.
This fall, Charlie and drummer Bobby Previte will release a duet album titled Red Dog on Ropeadope. A specific release date has not yet been set. Also look for an announcement on a new live DVD from Hunter in the coming weeks.
