A number of musicians joined Gov’t Mule last night at the Beacon Theater. John Scofield, Bernie Worrell and DJ Logic sat in for a few songs including ‘Maggot Brain’ (which Worrell undoubtedly played quite a bit during his stint in P-Funk) and ‘Doing It To Death.’ Audley Freed played on ‘Fool’s Moon,’ ‘Sometimes Salvation’ and the encore ’30 Days in the Hole.’ In addition a number of bass players joined Warren Haynes and Matt Abts: Greg Rzab, Tony Levin, Geoge Porter Jr, and Andy Hess.
Gov’t Mule will play the second of its sold out Beacon shows tonight with Joey Arkenstat and others expected to appear.
