The New Psychedelic

Relix launched as the definitive magazine for Grateful Dead, Bay Area and other exploratory music in 1974, just as the dawn of the original psychedelic music was beginning to fade. Nearly 40 years later, psychedelic music is once again shining bright. From the current West Coast psych-rock revival heard in Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound to hippie-punk sounds like The Flaming Lips to the underground New York community at the Silent Barn in New York City or the freaky musical sounds coming from Japan, Relix navigates the scenes’ various currents to see where they all lead.

Plus: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, The Kinks’ Dave Davies, Yeasayer, STS9, Furthur, Widespread Panic, The Contribution, Mose Allison, Jam Cruise and much, much more.
