This past Sunday My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James and drummer Patrick Hallahan performed at a benefit show for the local record store ear X-tacy, the show took place at Louisville, KY’s Headliners Music Hall. The night featured performances by a number of local acts, including Wax Fang’s Scott Carney, The Watson Twins, Ben Sollee and Cabin. James and Hallahan closed the night with a short set that kicked off with the holiday-themed “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” The duo also offered stripped down guitar/drum versions of MMJ standards like “Gideon,” “Golden,” “Wonderful (The Way I Feel),” “Bermuda Highway,” “Smokin’ From Shootin’” and “One Big Holiday.” James also showed off his instrumental virtuosity by switching over to bass for a jam with Hallahan.
