As we reported last week, the inaugural SteelJam festival will take place in Bethlehem, PA from September 2-5. The site is the former Bethlehem Steel plant now known as SteelStacks, which is “a re-imagination of an industrial brownfield that uses the arts to rebuild and revitalize a post-industrial, urban community.” Keller Williams, Lubriphonic, From Good Homes Honey Island Swamp Band, Rustic Overtones, Eliot Lipp, MathGames (featuring Fareed Haque from Garaj Mahal), Stanton Moore and Headtronics were among the initial acts confirmed for the event. They will be joined by Umphrey’s McGee, Railroad Earth, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Ozomatli, ALO, Tea Leaf Green and many other groups who will appear at four different indoor and outdoor venues.
