Wilco crammed into Chicago’s 500-person Lincoln Hall last night. The show capped off the group’s five-night, five-venue homecoming run through some of the city’s smaller venues. The run kicked off at Chicago’s Civic Opera House and then moved to increasingly smaller venues like Riviera Theatre, The Vic Theatre, Metro and, finally, Lincoln Hall. Each show featured a diverse setlist and some special guest openers. Last night, SNL personality and onetime professional rock drummer Fred Armisen opened the show and later added some percussion to “I’ll Fight” during Wilco’s set. Armisen—a longtime Wilco fan and avid indie rock supporter—has performed with Wilco a few times and appears in the group’s film I Am Trying to Break Your Heart. Wilco will hit the road again in January, beginning with a show at Denver’s Fillmore on January 19.
