Professor Longhair founded New Orleans’ famed Tipitina’s and now an assortment of Big Easy musicians will come together to help preserve the piano player’s family hope. On September 29, the club will host Fess’ “House Party New Orleans Style,” a benefit to renovate and preserve Professor Longhair’s family home. George Porter, Jr. & The Tipitina’s All-Stars will headline the night, and T.I.P. Interns led by renowned saxophonist Donald Harrison, Jr. will open the night. A number of guests will take the stage throughout the night: Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Ellis Marsalis, The Radiators’ Ed Volker and many others are slated to perform with Porter while The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will sit in with the T.I.P. Interns.
