Vocalist Alison Krauss announced today she will not be performing at next weekend’s Wide Open Bluegrass. Krauss was recently diagnosed with dysphonia, a vocal condition that causes impairment in the ability to produce vocal sounds. Patients with dysphonia typically experience a hoarse, rough voice for an extended period of time.

Krauss was scheduled to perform as a part of a collaboration with Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bela Fleck, Del McCoury, Tony Rice and Mark Schatz. Per her website, Krauss is expecting a full recovery and is currently undergoing treatment.
