The LeeVees, a Hanukkah-themed project featuring Guster’s Adam Gardner and The Zambonis’ Dave Schneider, spent the weekend opening for Matisyahu as part of his Festival of Light tour. On Friday, the two acts appeared at Glenside, PA’s Keswick Theatre and on December 13, the two groups celebrated the final night of the Jewish holiday at Durham, NC’s Carolina Theatre·

Matis recently recorded the new holiday single “Outside of December” with The LeeVees so it makes sense that during both shows the reggae singer joined his opening act for the festive tune. The members of The LeeVees stayed busy on Saturday night too, and made a surprise appearance at a Washington, DC holiday party when their show with Matisyahu was cancelled.

This evening The LeeVees will close their run with a performance at Fairfield, CT’s Fairfield Theatre. In addition, the show will feature: Caravan of Thieves, a collaboration between The Alternate Routes’ Tim Warren and The Stepkids’ Tim Walsh, The National/Trey Anastasio/Interpol producer Peter Katis’ projects The Philistines Jr. and The Happiest Guys in the World and The Zambonis.
