Presented by The Capitol Theatre and Friends of Free Dead in the Park, the imminent concert event follows in the same vein as the Grateful Dead’s historic, free performance in New York’s green lung on May 5, 1968. During next month’s tribute concert, Stella Blue’s Band will pay homage to the original San Francisco jamband with select covers plucked from the Dead’s beloved and abundant songbook.

Free Dead in the Park began in 2018 when Stella Blue’s Band performed at the Naumburg Bandshell in New York’s Central Park to mark the 50th anniversary of the Dead’s historic performance, which featured Jefferson Airplane and the Paul Butterfield Band.

As with past events, an exclusive commemorative t-shirt featuring an illustration by Kelley Wills of Brain Flower Designs will be given to all attendees who become Riverkeeper members at the event.
