Widespread Panic’s John “JoJo” Hermann has tapped New Orleans Mardi Gras India, Big Chief Juan Pardo for a series of December tour dates slated for the country’s Southeastern region. On the road, the pair will take the funk feeling of the Big Easy and impart its stylings beginning on December 12, 2024, at Blackbox in Charlotte, N.C.

The four-stop jaunt will include accompaniment from special guest musicians, including Kirk Joseph, Jake Eckert and Eddie Christmas, who are slated to join Hermann and Pardo during the December tour.

After night one, the ensemble will take their talents to Asheville Music Hall in Asheville, N.C., on December 13 before adding a pair of Virginia stops to the schedule, which will unfold on December 14 at 5 Points Music Sanctuary in Roanoke, Va., and conclude after an evening at The Broadberry in Richmond, Va.

In a comment shared exclusively with Jambase, Hermann noted the specialty of returning to Asheville, N.C., after the live music hub was significantly affected by Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024. Following Hermann’s December dates, he will rejoin his Widespread Panic bandmates for their initial return on February 14-16, 2025, at Hard Rock Live in Atlantic City, N.J.

Notably, on August 9, Widespread Panic canceled their remaining 2024 live appearances, stemming from longtime member Jimmy Herring’s diagnosis with stage one tonsil cancer, including what had been upcoming concerts scheduled for Milwaukee and Savannah. Read more
