Last night, April 19, Phish continued their stay at the William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre at the University of California in Berkeley, Calif. The performance marked their third and final performance at the venue as part of their spring 2023 West Coast tour and, like the evenings before, treated fans to an array of favorites augmented with lush improvisation and skill.

They opened with “Never Needed You Like This Before” before and “AC/DC Bag,” which was unfinished. Next, Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman and Page McConnell, without pause, flowed into “Rift,” followed by “Runaway Jim” and “Lawn Boy.” The crowd was then treated to two pairings to round out the frame: a jam of “Halley’s Comet” > “Timber (Jerry the Mule)” and “Winterqueen” > “46 Days.”

“Mike’s Song” kicked off the second set, a non-stop jam, and the song smoothly found its way to one of the brightest highlights of the evening, “Beneath a Sea of Stars Part 1.” The music continued to flow as the band melded “Weekapaug Groove” into the mix, which was followed by “Cool It Down” > “Set Your Soul Free” > a penultimate “What’s the Use?” and finally “Loving Cup.” Phish returned for an encore of the ever-tender “Waste” and continued to jam with a show-closing “Tweezer Reprise.”

Phish will continue their spring tour with two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles tomorrow, April 21 and the following day, April 22. Watch via LivePhish.com here.
