Today, Grateful Dead cover band the Grateful Shred announced they’ll tour the East Coast of the United States in the early winter of 2023. The tour, presented by Grateful Shred Industries, Relix and PHILM, is being touted as East Coast 23 and will consist of 10 shows.

The announcement comes on ahead of the self-proclaimed #1 Grateful Dead Cover Band on the Planet’s three-night holiday run at Doug Weston’s Troubadour in Los Angeles on Dec. 8, 9 and 10. The performances at the beloved venue in the City of Angels will see the sextet–comprised of Dan Horne (bass, vocals), Adam MacDougall (keys, synths, vocals), Austin McCutchen (guitar, vocals), Zeph Ohora (guitar, vocals), John Lee Shannon (guitar, vocals), Austin Beede (drums) and Alex Koford (drums, vocals)–joined by friend and gifted harpist, Mikaela Davis.

East Coast 23 will begin at Terminal West in Atlanta on Feb. 23 before heading to the Charleston Pour House, in Charleston, S.C., for two nights on Feb. 24 and 25. From there, they’ll head to the Salvage Station in Asheville, N.C., for a performance on Feb. 26, then The Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 28. They’ll welcome March in with a performance at Harrisburg, Pa.’s HMAC on March 1 and then head to the Brooklyn Bowl Philadelipha for a night on March 2. They’ll close out the tour with a three-night stint at the Brooklyn Bowl’s flagship venue in New York City on March 3, 4 and 5.

During the tour, Grateful Shred plan to showcase the musical chemistry that is found on their 13-track live album Belly up (Live, 12/30/21), which was created in collaboration with PHILM and features the now infamous “Solana Sugaree.”

Relix, PHILM and Shredhead Fan Club pre-sale tickets for the tour will go onsale tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. ET with the code ROCKSAMERICA. General on-sale tickets will be available this Friday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. ET.
