Last night, Nov. 12, Goose and Trey Anastasio Band continued their joint arena tour at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The evening’s sold-out show kicked off with a frame by Goose, who ran through a handful of numbers before TAB’s horns section stepped out during the ensemble’s cover of “Fish in the Sea.” During Goose’s final song, the Phish frontman assisted on “Factory Fiction.” TAB’s jammed-out set featured collaborations as members of Goose helped on “No Men in No Man’s Land” and “46 Days.” Then, the entire lineup of musicians lent their skill on the night’s encore of “Carini.”

Goose began Saturday’s set with a run-through of “Animal” before moving into “Flodown” off their 2021’s Shenanigans Nite Club collection. “Arrow” arrived prior to a cover of “Hollywood Nights,” a number initially written by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band. Moreover, the latter also represented a bust out for the group, which had not performed the song since May 2, 2018. Then, to cap the cover, Goose worked back into their original material on “Arrow.”

The first set continued with the title track off 2022’s Dripfield, followed by a sit-in featuring Natalie Cressman on trombone, Jennifer Hartswick on trumpet and James Casey on saxophone. The trio assisted with a cover of “Fish in the Sea” by Fat Freddy’s Drop. For their final song, Goose landed on “Factory Fiction” and brought out Anastasio, who ripped the guitar during the last tune of Goose’s set.

After set break, Trey Anastasio Band took the stage for their frame, which began with an energetic take on “Sand” followed by a pairing of “Shine” into “Twist.” Next, a tour through “Mozambique” led to “Night Speaks to a Woman,” which included pristine vocals by Cressman, Hartwick, Casey, and their leader, Anastasio. To follow, “Mercy” pop up before the group worked into “Undermind.” Then, they broke into rarity, “…And Flew Away.”

“Pigtail” came next and featured Anastasio’s spotless chords, teamed with bassist Dezron Douglas’ grooves, generated a bright take on “About to Run.” The group ran through “Push On Til the Day” before Goose’s Peter Anspach and Rick Mitarotonda arrived on stage to assist with “No Men in No Man’s Land” before a set closing “46 Days” ensued. For their encore, the remaining members of Goose helped with a crowd-rousing rendition of “Carini.”

After last night’s concert at Mohegan Sun Arena, Goose and Trey Anastasio Band will take a stand at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls, N.Y. Earlier this afternoon, the town’s mayor, Bill Collins, declared November 13, Taboose Day, in honor of the joint ensemble’s Sunday night stand 40 minutes north of Albany, N.Y.

Tickets remain on sale for tonight’s show and can be purchased here. For those unable to attend, livestream purchase options are available via nugs.net.
