The Raconteurs will return with their first new album in over a decade, Help Us Stranger, on June 21, and today the band shared another preview of the effort with their rendition of Donovan’s “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness).”

The cover mostly keeps to the structure of the original, which was released as a B-side to Donovan’s single “Turquoise” in 1965, but with added Raconteurs vigor, plus an frenetic snare drum part from Patrick Keeler, dual vocals from Jack White and Bredan Benson and some fiery harmonica lines.

Listen below via Bandcamp (where Third Man Records just dropped a portion of their extensive catalog for streaming and purchase) and see The Raconteurs’ upcoming tour dates, tickets for which go on sale this Friday, April 12.
