Deep Blue Sun has been forced to postpone its planned DVD recording at Atlantas Smiths Olde Bar tomorrow. Lead singer/keyboardist John Marsh was involved in a serious car accident Wednesday night, sustaining numerous injuries to his ribs, hand, face and left eye from the cars airbag. Marsh is currently recovering but will be unable to perform this weekend. The band plans to return to Smiths Olde Bar in the future to record its DVD.
Southeast music fans will likely remember Deep Blue Sun who performed regularly on the farm party circuit from 1998 to 2002. In 2002 a fire at the bands house prompted what would become a two year hiatus. Since reuniting the group has debuted a new lineup and a wealth of new material. Tomorrows show was set to showcase several of the groups new compositions. Deep Blue Sun plans to return to the road in time for its performance at the Blue Ridge Harvest Festival on October 8.
