Our final sit-in report of the day finds us in Woodstock, NY focusing on one of the scenes founding fathers, the Bands Levon Helm. On Saturday, Levon Helm hosted a free-form jam at his barn/studio as part of his famed The Midnight Ramble Sessions. In addition to the evenings announced guests, Steven Bernstein’s Millennial Territory Orchestra and The Alexis P. Suter Band, both Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint also performed with Helm throughout the night. Over the years, Helm has invited a number of well known guests to the stage during his high-priced jam-session including Emmylou Harris, Dr. John and fellow Band-mate Garth Hudson. Helm will perform next on February 25 at New Yorks BB King Blues Club.
