High Sierra has confirmed another round of artist additions. Both Mike Gordon and Michael Franti and Spearhead will return to the festival for the first time since 2005, while the Akron/Family and the Spam Allstars will make their High Sierra debuts. In addition, festival veterans Bill Nershi and Drew Emmitt will bring their new Emmitt-Nershi Band to California and The Slip and Nathan Moore will perform as Surprise Me Mr. Davis, marking The Slips eleventh consecutive appearance at the festival. As previously reported, High Sierra will return to Quincy, CA from July 3-6, featuring performances by Bob Weir & RatDog, Railroad Earth, Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, James Hunter, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and the Charlie Hunter Trio, among others. Since Gordon, Emmitt, Nershi and Franti are all confirmed to appear at Michigans Rothbury Music Festival the same weekend, it looks like a number of musicians will be flying between the two events.
