Soulive continued with their second of eight shows at Brooklyn Bowl as Bowlive returns after a brief hiatus.

The first set saw the band present their rendition of The Beatles’ Rubber Soul with the final two songs of the set, “Something in the Way She Moves” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” featuring Ron Artis joining the band. Artis played a brief solo set during Soulive’s setbreak and returned later on in the show for “The Truth” and “The Pit.”

Other guests on the night included Doyle Bramhall II, who sat in for a majority of the second set and encore on tunes like “Keep You Dreaming,” “The Veil” and “I Believe” to close out the set. Bassist Adam Minkoff also joined the ensemble for all of Bramhall’s songs.

In the encore, surprise guest Kamasi Washington joined the band for “Povo” followed by “Stone Free” with Artis and Bramhall.

Bowlive continues tonight with vocalist Antwaun Stanley and the Snarky Horns.
