U-Melt wrapped up its spring tour on Saturday night in New Orleans with a late night Backbeat JazzFest Series show at The Blue Nile. The quartet hit the stage shortly after 2:30AM for a three hour set which concluded with NOLA native Big Sam stepping up on trombone for a cover of MMW’s ‘Bubblehouse.’ U-Melt then finished up its final performance for a few weeks with an encore version of Little Feat’s ‘Spanish Moon.’ The group will next appear at Summer Camp over Memorial Day weekend, with a number of June dates on the docket, including a post Phish show at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh, NY (6/4), a Boston boat cruise (6/26) and the band’s debut at Brooklyn’s Southpaw (6/27).
