Last night, Bob Weir and RatDogs summer tour continued at Jim Thorpe, PAs Penn’s Peak. Jackie Greene opened the night and brought out RatDog guitarist Mark Karan for So Hard to Find My Way, Tell Me Mama Tell Me Right. RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, then emerged to play with Greene and Karan on Mexican Girl. Finally, Weir joined Greene and the members of RatDog for a take on the Grateful Deads

‘New Speedway Boogie’ (one of the only Dead tunes Greene covers in his solo set).
Greene later returned the favor by sitting in with RatDog at the start of its second set. The younger singer emerged for a lengthy acoustic segment that included the traditional Stealin, Buddy Hollys Oh Boy and Hollys Not Fade Away, as well as en electric
Iko Iko.
RatDog and Greene will return to Penns Peak this evening. Looking ahead, Weir and RatDog are also scheduled to headline Bridgeport, CTs Gathering of the Vibes the weekend of July 23-26. Though Greene is not on the bill, there is a chance Weir may collaborate with any number of his old friends, ranging from Levon Helm to Donna Jean Godchaux to Jaimoe and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
