Janes Addiction has cancelled its Australian reunion tour after drummer Stephen Perkins was admitted to the Infectious Disease Ward at Los Angeles Cedar’s-Sinai Hospital for treatment of an infection in his elbow. Though doctors expect Perkins to make a full recovery, doctors are keeping the drummer in the hospital for next few days for further diagnosis and observation while anti-biotic treatment continues.
‘I know how excited we were to come play in Australia, and how long the fans there have waited for this, singer Perry Farrell said in a statement. I want everyone Down Under to know that we will come back as soon as we can.’
The reformed group had just returned to Los Angeles from a successful European leg when the mysterious infection was discovered after Perkins noticed severe swelling and pain building in his elbow.
