Dragon Smoke will kick off their annual late-fall run next week. The New Orleans supergroup, which features keyboardist Ivan Neville, Galactic bassist Robert Mercurio, guitarist Eric Lindell and Galactic drummer Stanton Moore, first came together as part of a Superjam at New Orleans’ Dragon’s Den in 2003. Though the group has continued to play Jazz Fest annually and tours sporadically, the group’s runs are limited due to the members’ busy schedules. The ensemble’s run of shows will kick off at Los Angeles’ The Mint on November 27 and wrap up with a hometown engagement at Tipitina’s on December 7.

The members of Galactic are said to be in talks of purchasing Tips, where they will also host their New Year’s Eve show (as is tradition).
