Following five sets over two nights at Red Rocks this weekend, the String Cheese Incident made their way to Salt Lake City for a show at Red Butte Amphitheatre last night. The band will remain active with shows over the next four days before wrapping up the current leg of their Just Keep Spinning Tour in Seattle on Sunday.

Wednesday’s performance kicked off with “These Waves” which segued into “Djibouti Bump.” First set highlights included the band’s new original “Wild Wide Open Dreams,” as well as three SCI classics: “Dudley’s Kitchen” and a pairing of “Sirens” and “Howard.”

The second set opened with “Get Tight,” which first surfaced in 2016 and the group has described quite fittingly as “an easy, breezy, summertime feel good track.” The six-piece then delivered animated takes on Joe Zawinul’s “Birdland,” followed by Kyle Hollingsworth’s “Colliding” and Bill Nershi’s “Barstool.” From there the band moved into “Outside And Inside,” which segued into the first version of U2’s “Mysterious Ways” since 3/11/16 at the Fox Theater in Oakland and then found its way back into “Outside And Inside.” Keller Williams’ “Best Feeling” came next before the set-closing “Valley Of The Jig.” The encore was a version of the Peter Gabriel/Youssou N’Dour collaboration “Shakin’ The Tree,” which the group has performed infrequently as of late, most recently at the Belly Up in Aspen on 3/8/25.

Looking back to Red Rocks, a fan captured a video of the ‘Round the Wheel” from Saturday, which featured all manner of hula hoopers.
