Kofi Burbridge was a multitalented musician and a kindhearted soul who passed away on February 15, 2019 at age 57 due to a heart ailment. Burbridge, a songwriter and arranger who excelled at keyboards and flute, performed with Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Derek Trucks Band, and Tedeschi Trucks Band, among others. Once again, Burbridge will be honored on his birthday, September 22, via a special volunteer event.

The 6th Annual Kofi Burbridge Day of Service will occur on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The Tedeschi Trucks Band founded the gathering and the group explains, “This nationwide day of service is a meaningful way to celebrate Kofi’s generous spirit by volunteering together to make a difference in our communities. This year, we are partnering with nonprofits in 25 cities across the country to offer volunteer opportunities for our Tedeschi Trucks Band family to give back together.”

Registration is now open for the Kofi Burbridge Day of Service.
