With Halloween fast approaching, George Porter Jr. is issuing a celebratory reminder that he and the Runnin’ Pardners will “funk you to death” on Friday, October 31, at New Orleans’ Chickie Wah Wah venue. The two-set performance is billed to feature special guests, celebrated trombonist Mark Mullins, the contributor to countless funk outputs, and Grammy-nominated guitarist Brian Stoltz.
After turning in his Halloween performance, Porter Jr. and his Pardners in sound will proceed to Greensboro, N.C., for a concert on Nov. 7, ahead of the bandleader’s participation in the Tulane Tipping Point Benefit on Friday, Nov. 14. The next night, he is scheduled to play with First World, before taking a seat and offering songs during Tipitina’s Presents: A Tribute to Art Neville & Eddie Bo, on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
At this time, Porter Jr. will take a break from live appearances before his Dec. 12 arrival at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, La. With the Runnin’ Pardners, the bassist will venture to Los Angeles to ring in the New Year at The Venice West. Then, on Jan. 31, 2026, the New Orleans stalwart will take his talents to the Olympia Funk Fest in Olympia, Wash., before Jam Cruise sets sail on Feb. 7.
