After performing at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on Tuesday, Dave Matthews Band flew to Brazil for two performances. DMB is headlining the Best Of Blues & Rock Festival in Sao Paulo. Richard Ashcroft and Barão Vermelho also are on the bill of the fest, now in its 12th year, which takes place at Ibirapuera Park.
Last night’s show opened with “Don’t Drink the Water,” followed by a segued sequence that included “So Much To Say,” “Anyone Seen The Bridge” and “Too Much.” The festival audience was then treated to a number of fan favorites, including “Grace Is Gone,” “Satellite,” “Crash Into Me,” “Jimi Thing,” “Everyday” and “Tripping Billies.” Midway through the set, Brazilian harmonica player Gabriel Grossi joined the group. Grossi, who has distinguished itself both as a solo artist and as a longtime member of the multi-Grammy nominated Hamilton de Holanda Quintet, appeared on “What Would You Say.”
DMB returns to Ibirapuera Park this evening then will head back to the U.S. for a Wednesday appearance at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater.
