On Thursday, March 14, Umphrey’s McGee took their current tour to Spokane Live in Airway Heights, Wash. After traveling across the country and welcoming guests in select cities, the band used their Evergreen State arrival to bust out a series of Pink Floyd originals, followed by another nearly forgotten cover, a take on Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ in the Years.”

Before the onset of dust-offs, UM gassed up the night with a sequence of nonstop originals, emerging as “Eat” > “Bridgeless” > “Pure Saturation” and eventually “Phil’s Farm.” They caught their breaths before working into “Hourglass” and its subsequent follow-up, “August.”

The aforementioned musical movements preluded the night’s Pink Floyd bust out, which arrived in the form of Dark Side of the Moon‘s closing tracks, “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse. ” Both songs were previously covered by UM on May 3, 2014, effectively ending an 880-show gap in covers.

Set two represented another round of originals, conjuring “White Man’s Moccasins,” “It Doesn’t Matter,” “Higgins,” “ Hajimemashite,” “Night Nurse” before a pairing of “Booth Love” and “Bridgeless.” Umphrey’s returned for the night’s encore, which emerged as Steely Dan’s classic, “Reelin’ in the Years,” another bust out, last played on March 3, 2017, ending a 597 show gap.
