Reckless Kelly and Steve Earle will collaborate this summer for a series of concerts, beginning on June 22 at The Shed in Maryville, Tenn. During the co-bills, Grammy-award winners Reckless Kelly will deliver their own dynamic set before joining Earle and backing him during his sets on the four-stop run.
After the initial appearance, the group of artists will rest before resuming their jaunt on June 29 at Whitewater Amphitheatre in New Braunfels, Texas. A sizeable break will land halfway through the run, only to pick back up on August 3 at the Mission Ballroom in Denver before the final join date, August 1, at the Braun Brothers Reunion in Challis, Idaho.
“If there was a sonic blueprint for Reckless Kelly, Steve Earle would have been one of the principal architects. It’s hard to imagine what we might sound like without the influence of his style and songwriting. We’re beyond excited to be his band and to get to play songs like “Guitar Town” and “Copperhead Road” with the captain on deck. These shows are going to be incredible,” mused Willy Braun (Reckless Kelly) via press release.
Earle added, “I’ve kind of watched these guys grow up. They started young, and they got good, fast! If, after thousands of shows and hundreds of thousands of miles, this is, indeed, the end of the trail, I want to be there.”
