On Feb. 23, Elliott Peck shared a health update via social media. The artist, known for her work in Midnight North and alongside other Bay Area lumimaries, revealed that she had been admitted to the hospital, where doctors had discovered a tumor in her abdomen. Her Midnight North bandmates followed up, sharing a tour update and support for their friend and collaborator.
Initially, Peck addressed her ongoing health concerns, writing in part: Last week I was admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe stomach pain. After getting a CT scan, the doctors determined I have a large tumor located in my abdomen. While I’m still waiting for the biopsy results, I will regardless have to have a pretty complex surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately this will be putting me on hiatus from touring & local shows while I get through this process & recover.”
After Peck’s post, Midnight North followed up, offering support and a touring update. The band told fans and followers, “To do everything we can to support her in her recovery, we are sad to announce that we will not be performing as Midnight North until Elliott is once again healthy enough to join us on stage.”
“To that end, we will be cancelling next week’s 4 shows in New England – February 29 at Nectar’s in Burlington, March 1 at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs, March 2 at Rockwood Boston, and March 3 at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth. Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale,” the band wrote.
Midnight North added, “The 4 shows the following weekend (March 7-10 co-headlining with the Mother Hips) will become Grahame Lesh & Friends shows, with Grahame & the rest of MN doing our best to fill the air with musical healing energy. Those shows are March 7 at the Hamilton in Washington DC, March 8 at Brooklyn Bowl in New York, March 9 at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, and March 10 at Middle Ages Beer Hall in Syracuse.”
Just this morning, Peck’s Midnight North bandmate, Grahame Lesh, confirmed the aforementioned news and tacked on additional information, “We will have some friends joining us to help fill in for Elliott musically! Friends like Justin Mazer (Mar 7, 8, & 10), Damian Calcagne (Mar 9), all the fellas from the Mother Hips who we are so stoked to tour with, and maybe some other friends & fam will be helping us fill out the sound and send healing musical energy across the country to Elliott in California. Much love to everyone, and we’ll see you all out there on the road!”
