Last night, Feb. 10, The Disco Biscuits continued their run at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo. The group’s second night on stage brought forth a series of extensive jams and improvised moments, made special with the addition of “Sabre Dance” at the end of the first set. The Aram Khatchaturian-composed piece was dusted off for the first time since Jan. 4, 2020. Its appearances on the setlist ended a 195-year gap since the last live run-through.

Prior to the noteworthy moment, the band darted in and out of material during their first frame, beginning with “Rockafella” into Massive Attack’s “Teardrops” and inverted renditions of “Twisted in the Road” plus “And The Ladies Were The Rest Of The Night.” The natural ability to turn from one piece to the next was thrusted on “To Be Continued,” merged with “Fire Will Exchange.”

“Sabre Dance” served as the final number of the night’s first batch, representing the show’s bust out and a known feature of their The Classical Set LP. Set two produced a non-stop spew of material, starting with seasoned originals “Reactor” and “Spacebirdmatingcall,” prior to a rare setlist addition, a cover of LCD Soundsystem’s “Tribulations.” The aforementioned number produced “The Deal” before a split-second shift into Simon Postford’s “Gamma Goblins” and returned to the set opener to cap frame.

For The Disco Biscuits’ sold-out Boulder Theatre finale, they started with Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell,” which ran into their 2024 debuted “No Recollection,” and back to “Run Like Hell, only this time with a tease of second set play, “The Deal.”
